The Raging Bolt ex deck focuses on accelerating energy cards to Raging Bolt ex. This occurs because of Raging Bolt’s attack and its position as the main attacker of the set.

Raging Bolt ex is a new deck archetype that uses new cards in Temporal Forces. The main attacker is Raging Bolt ex because its attack, Extreme Ascent, deals 70 damage per energy you discard on any Pokemon in play. We power Raging Bolt’s attack using Professor Sada’s Vitality, and when your opponent has 4 prize cards or fewer, we utilize Sandy Shocks ex. To accelerate energy we require the energy cards in the discard pile. So we can use Radiant Greninja and item cards like Ultra Ball, Trekking Shoes and Earthen Vessel to discard energy cards throughout the game.

How Raging Bolt ex Deck Works

This deck also includes Koraidon as a single prize card attacker. Koriadon’s attack, Primordial Battering, does 30 damage for each Ancient Pokemon in play. This is a mainly Ancient deck, so you can easily find Koraidon dealing 120 damage. We include Mew Ex primarily as a last resort. Mew’s Restart ability provides an additional method to draw cards into your hand. As long as you have Mew, there is always the possibility of using Genome hacking, if necessary as an attack. Squawkabilly ex is there if you’d like to discard your hand on the first turn and use Motivate to accelerate additional energy to Pokemon in play for Raging Bolt ex.

Regarding other trainer cards, we have the Ace Spec Prime Catcher. Prime Catcher allows us to switch the opponent’s active Pokemon with a benched Pokemon and our active Pokemon with a benched one. In case we need our Supporter or other Pokemon cards from the discard pile, Pal Pad and Super Rod are there for recovery. Both Sandy Shocks and Raging Bolt have high retreat costs so we can use Switch Cart to switch benched Pokemon in for nothing. Lastly, Professor Sada's Vitality is crucial, so we have Pokegear 3.0 to help us find it.

This deck does heavily rely on Raging Bolt ex as the sole attacker. This Raging Bolt ex deck doesn’t offer much versatility against varying decks. However, the core deck has a good concept and can easily take down some top decks. As time goes on new additions will be made to make this deck the best it can be.

Raging Bolt ex is a new concept. The Raging Bolt ex deck is an early prototype and has imperfections. However, with a few adjustments, this deck can dominate the 2024 metagame.
