Temporal Forces is scheduled for release on March 22nd, 2024. Upon release, this set will bring an incredible influx of new cards with abundant potential.

It is important to note that this set is unreleased. Cards might find unexpected uses or even create new decks. Additionally, it's worth noting that this list reflects my opinion, and the perception of card strength may differ among individuals.

Contents

The cards included in this list will differ from one another. This compilation is centred around the cards I believe will see the most play and provide significant value to players. The top cards in Temporal Forces are not excessively dominant; instead, they are expected to greatly enhance existing decks and possibly spark the creation of new ones.

Most Powerful Cards In Temporal Forces

Gouging Fire ex

Gouging Fire is a strong attacker. This Pokemon is an absolute unit with 230 HP and an attack that does 260 damage for 2 Fire energy and 1 colourless energy. A massive downside to this Pokemon is that to use Explosive Fire again the Pokemon must leave the active spot.

This card could be used within Charizard ex and Roaring Moon ex decks as a quick-shot attacker. Gouging Fire ex could also benefit from utilizing Professor Sada’s Vitality to charge up its attacks.

[R][C] Heat Blast: 60 damage.

[R][R][C] Explosive Fire: 260 damage. This Pokémon can't use Explosive Fire again until it leaves the Active Spot.

Weakness / Resistance / Retreat Cost: Wx2 / / 2

Roaring Moon

The card boasts a high HP of 140, especially for a regular basic card. Roaring Moon’s attack, Vengeful Feathers, does 70 damage for 2 dark energy cards. This attack will do 10 more damage for each card in the discard pile.

Roaring Moon could destroy most 1 Prize card attackers. You can also use Professor Sada’s Vitality and Ancient Booster energy capsule to give this card 200 HP and energy cards. This card could greatly enhance Roaring Moon's ex-deck, primarily to frustrate opponents.

[D][D] Vengeful Feathers: 70+ damage. This attack does 10 more damage for each Ancient card in your discard pile.

[D][C][C][C] Speed Wing: 120 damage.

Weakness / Resistance / Retreat Cost: Gx2 / / 2

Miraidon

This card has a lot of potential. This card may seem quite ordinary on its own. However, with the correct cards, this can be an early powerhouse. Miraidon is a basic card with 110 HP. This card is reliant on its first attack, Accelerating Peak. The attack does 40 damage and lets you search for 2 basic energy cards and place them on your Future Pokemon.

What makes this attack perfect is the low energy cost and the cards you can apply to it. Firstly, each Iron Crown ex-card used will add 20 damage to the attack. Next, using a Future Booster Energy Capsule adds 20 damage and eliminates the retreat cost. Suddenly, for 1 colourless energy, you can do over 100 damage and search your deck for 2 energy cards and place them on any Future Pokemon.

[C] Accelerating Peak: 40 damage. Search your deck for up to 2 Basic Energy cards and attach them to your Future Pokémon in any way you like. Then, shuffle your deck.

[L][L][P] Sparking Strike: 160 damage.

Cryptomaniac's Deciphering

Cryptomaniac’s Deciphering is a standout trainer card. It allows you to search for 2 cards in your deck and place them at the top. There isn't much more to say about it.

However, you can use this card in combination with Radiant Greninja to pull your card of choice for the single energy. The ability to place 2 cards at the top of your deck also protects you from Iono, which can wipe out your entire hand with no control over what you will receive by drawing.

Buddy Poffin

Buddy Poffin is an excellent card. With the upcoming 2024 Standard rotation, The Pokemon TCG will be free of Battle VIP Pass. However, this card is practically the same thing.

This card allows the player to search their deck for 2 basic cards with 70 HP or less and place them on the bench. Buddy Poffin will be great for evolution decks and Lost Box decks that need to get out some basic cards early on.

Raging Bolt ex

Raging Bolt ex has been the centre of attention since it was announced. This highly anticipated card could be the best attacker from this set. Raging Bolt is a dragon-type with 240 HP.

Raging Bolt's initial attack enables you to discard your hand and draw 6 cards. This action is crucial for drawing cards. Raging Bolt’s second ability does 70 damage for each energy card you discard. Raging Bolt ex will likely be combined with Professor Sada’s Vitality to quickly get energy cards for Raging Bolt to start attacking with.

Another solid combination is Sandy Shocks ex to accelerate 1 Fighting energy per turn to Raging Bolt. This will only work if the opponent has four or fewer Prize cards. These two cards will help Raging Bolt ex ramp up damage quite quickly.

[C] Bursting Roar: Discard your hand and draw 6 cards.

[L][F] Climactic Descent: 70x damage. You may discard any amount of Basic Energy from your Pokémon. This attack does 70 damage for each card you discard in this way.

Iron Crown ex

Iron Crown ex will be an incredibly vital card in any Future-based deck. At first, I didn’t like Iron Crown because it is an odd-looking Pokemon. However, its attack and ability are good. Iron Crown ex has 220 HP and an attack that does 50 damage to two of your opponent’s Pokemon.

Although this aspect is acceptable, it won't be the main incentive for using this card. Iron Crown's ability, Cobalt Command, enhances the damage of your Future Pokemon by 20. This ability presents diverse strategic possibilities. If you have 4 Iron Crown ex-cards on your bench, every attack will do 80 more damage. Cobalt Command could work especially well for cards like Iron Hands ex and the previously mentioned Miraidon.

Ability: Cobalt Command
Your Future Pokémon’s attacks, except any Iron Crown ex, do 20 more damage to your opponent’s Active Pokémon (before applying Weakness and Resistance).

[P][C][C] Twin Shotels: This attack does 50 damage to 2 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack's damage isn't affected by Weakness or Resistance, or by any effects on those Pokemon.

Weakness / Resistance / Retreat Cost: Dx2 / F-30 / 2

Prime Catcher

Prime Catcher is the best Ace Spec card. This item card enables you to swap your opponent’s active Pokemon with one on their bench and switch your active Pokémon with one on your bench. This ability is considered overpowered.

Prime Catcher lets you decide the match-up and give yourself the advantage. Nearly every existing deck can incorporate this Ace Spec card. Furthermore, it doesn’t count towards your single support card per turn. Many players have discovered they can first use Prime Catcher and then utilize Iono to thoroughly disrupt their opponent's bench and hand.
